Jonathan R. Stella, M.D.

Jonathan R. Stella, M.D.After completing an internal medicine internship at the East Tennessee State University College of Medicine in Johnson City, Dr. Stella pursued an oncology residency at the University of Miami, Jackson Hospital and a radiation oncology residency at the West Coast Cancer Foundation in San Francisco. His training included rotations through the University of California, San Francisco, Stanford University, and Lawrence Berkeley Lab, studying the therapeutic applications of stripped atomic nuclei. Dr. Stella is active in many societies, including the American Medical Association, the California Medical Association, and the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.

Jonathan Abelson, M.D.

Jonathan Abelson, M.D.Dr. Abelson graduated with honors from Pomona College with a B.A. in Mathematical Economics. He obtained his M.D. from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where he was the recipient of the Aesculapian award for dedicated service and leadership. He completed his internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and Radiation Oncology residency at Stanford University Cancer Center, serving as chief resident in his final year.

At Stanford, he gained comprehensive training in general radiation oncology as well as expertise in intensity modulated and image guided radiation therapy (IMRT and IGRT) and in stereotactic intracranial and body radiosurgery (SRS and SBRT). Dr. Abelson was principal investigator on a clinical trial investigating novel targeting procedures for SBRT in lung cancer. He has authored manuscripts on IMRT for pancreas cancer, esophageal tolerance in SBRT for spine and lung tumors, metal artifact reduction techniques in IGRT, and the use of metabolic imaging in SBRT. He has presented his research at conferences across North America and in Asia and Europe.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Abelson enjoys spending time with family and friends. He is a soccer fanatic, with the goal of attending games around the world.
